My daughter Monica also attended Roosevelt, graduating in 1989 along with Gene Fromm's son, David, and John Larson's daughter, Peggy.

I attended the U of M and Moorhead State. Returning to Minneapolis I worked at the U of M, F&M Bank, Ma Bell and a 40-year career with Wells Fargo. I married Chuck, RHS Class of ’54, in 1968. Chuck worked for Control Data until 1991. We were devoted Vikings, North Star, Twins and Wild fans. We adopted our daughter, Monica, in 1971. Monica and Mike married shortly after Chuck was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease, or ALS. Chuck lived at home on a ventilator until 2007. During his illness I worked days at Wells Fargo and was his overnight caregiver. It was the best of times and the worst of times. We became active in the ALS community, volunteering our time and energy. We met Kent Hrbek, Terry Steinbach, Darby Hendrickson and others who volunteered their time for ALS. Chuck managed to hang on until he could hold his first grandchild, 7-month old Cole. We would have been married 40 years in March. After Chuck died I worked one more year in the mortgage business and retired in 2008. I became Grammy to Olivia in 2009. Monica moved with her family to Columbus, OH where Mike became the head trainer for the Blue Jackets hockey team. I visit them frequently, and they make a trip home once a year. I love retirement and volunteer and participate on the Board of Directors where I live. My mother is 92 and lives at Nokomis Square (old Nokomis Jr. High); my sister, a retired nurse and my brother are both close by. I guess the apples don’t fall far from the tree! My advice is DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF, IT’S ALL SMALL STUFF.
