Holsten, Linda (Nelson) Linda (Nelson) Holsten, after a brief illness, went to be with Jesus on 11/5/21, at age 79. Linda will be so missed by many. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mabel Nelson; and brother David. She is survived by husband and best friend Ted; son Russel (Andrea); daughter Marjorie (Paul Pagel); and grandsons Joshua, Nathanael, Benjamin, Mitchell (Rebekah) Pagel; granddaughter Alyssa (Matt) Crane; brother Leland (Linda) and many nieces and nephews. Linda grew up in South Minneapolis, graduated from Roosevelt High School, and attended the University of Minnesota. While working at the Minneapolis Assessors' office, she got acquainted with Ted Holsten, one of the assessors. 14 months later, in September, 1961, they got married and began their 60 year fairy tale marriage. A few weeks after the wedding they left for Ted's first assignment for his new job with Honeywell: a three-year series of Air Force bases including Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Tuscon, Arizona; France; and England. After this, they settled down in St. Anthony for 48 years in the same home, where they raised their two children. In addition to being very involved as vice president and secretary of Ted's real estate business, Linda was a voracious reader and enjoyed babysitting for moms' groups at church. She had a ministry of making beautiful cards for people. Linda loved entertaining and always filled her home at Christmas. Linda enjoyed family vacations to Florida, Hawaii, the Bahamas, and Europe. She spent many summer weekends with Ted's parents at Bay Lake. In 1995, Ted and Linda purchased a cabin on Lobster Lake near Alexandria, MN and spent summers entertaining and enjoying the presence of family, relatives, and friends. Her relationship with Jesus Christ was central to everything she did and she studied her Bible daily. Family was the joy of her life. A funeral service will be held Monday Nov. 29th at 11:00AM with a visitation at 10:00AM at Salem Covenant Church 2655 5th St. NW, New Brighton. Interment at Hillside Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Truth for Health Foundation, Wounded Warriors, or Tunnel to Towers. Washburn-McReavy.com Hillside Chapel 612-781-1999
