I first met Donna in the 5th grade at Corcoran Elementary. We dated some times and always remained friends. Whenever I think of RHS 1960 I remember her.

Donna was a fun and sweet person, always smiling with those big dimples. In grade school at Corcoran, we had a girls club where we met every (I can't remember how often). It was very organized for 6th graders, with Pres. Sec. Treas. etc. Donna, Sandy Toussaint, Arlene Quickstrom, ( who now lives in Utah), Judy Anderson, Janice Petry, Carol Berg, Marilyn Mitby, and myself, Phyllis Nelson. The grand finale was a Halloween party that we had at Judy's that was great fun. When we had a little cash we frequented "The Pixie Shop".

Donna and I had a great time in Sam' Chemistry class.  Then, I reallly got to know Donna well when we both worked in Nursing Administration at U of MN Hospitals.  Donna was not a nurse but excelled in administration. She was appointed head of the Nursing Department, something unheard of at any University Hospital when she wasn't an RN.  She was outstanding.

Donna developed bone cancer in 1979.  She had back pain for months but it wasn't diagnosed until a short time before she died. Her mother and son Will survived her.

Donna was a bright, respectful, articulate person.  It was most unfortunate to lose her at such a young age.
