Roger and I joined the Navy Reserve together just before our senior year, although he transferred to Army later. He was many things during his life, including a police officer in Missouri, an artist making signs.
Roger lived many places during his life,the last 20 years plus were in the Austin Texas area.
I would try to see him as often as possible when going through Austin.
