DAVID O. EIDE

David O. Eide, age 71, of McGregor, formerly of Blaine and Minneapolis, died Friday, November 22, 2013, at his home near McGregor.

David was born May 10, 1942, in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Oscar and Inez (Helgeson) Eide. He grew up and at- tended schools in Minneapolis, graduating from the Roosevelt High School. He then served in the U.S. Navy serving on the Air Craft Carrier USS Oriskany. Upon his discharge in 1965 he returned to Minneapolis. He married Jeanette Makela on January 8, 1966,in Minneapolis. They made their home in Blaine and he worked for Superior Plating, Coop Plating and finally with A and M Manufacturing before retiring in 1998. He had been coming to the McGregor area for many years and he and his wife had bought property in 1982 in the McGregor area. They moved to the area in 2003 and have lived here since. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseshoes, bean bags and bowling.

He is survived by his wife Jeanette Eide of McGregor; three sons and spouses: Jere and Lynda Eide of Vancouver, Washington; David Jr. and Nichole Eide of Isanti; Scott and Wanda Eide of Isanti; daughter and son-in-law, Laura Jean and Clark Westphal of Isanti; grandchildren: Casey and fiancé Sharmeta Eide, Kiilie Eide, Gabri- elle Eide, Dallas Eide, Megan Eide, Scott Eide Jr., Coby Eide and Hailey Eide; great-grandchildren: Keana, Carter and Caster Eide. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Kirsten Simons; brothers: Richard and Allen; and sister, Sharon Cook.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, November 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the McGregor Funeral Home. A gathering time will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services. Arrangements are with the McGregor Funeral Home in McGregor. www.srtfuneral.com.
