 Wentzel, David Jon Age 71, of Woodbury, MN. David was born to Gladys and Wilbur (Kelly) Wentzel in Minneapolis, MN. Graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1960, David went on to earn his undergraduate degree and a Master's degree in Education from the University of Minnesota. A beloved teacher in Minneapolis Public Schools for 30 years, David had an endless love for learning and teaching. He also worked for years as a real estate agent and appraiser. David married Delores Ruth (Soderstrom) Wentzel, his high school sweetheart, on April 18, 1964. They had 3 children and many happy years together. She passed away in 2007. David found renewed joy when he married Jan Slade in 2008. They shared 5 years together and the love of their 13 grandchildren. David is remembered as a man who loved the Lord Jesus and who extended friendship, love and grace to all. Survived by wife, Jan (Slade) Wentzel; daughter, Heidi (Vince) St. Clair and grandchildren, Holly and Mitchell; son, Jon (Tara) Wentzel and grandchildren, Emma and Jonah; daughter, Amy (Kevin) Stevens and grandchildren Molly, Cole, Courtney and Lila; stepdaughter, Michelle (Dan) Cashman and granddaughters Freddy Jo, Rae and Madelyn; stepdaughter, Tanya Slade and granddaughter, Ashley; stepdaughter, Lorissa Slade and grandson Mateo; and brother, Marc (Donna) Wentzel.
