On the evening of April 30th, 2023 we said our goodbyes to our amazing, loving mother Kathleen Arey Olson (Thompson.) 

It was a beautiful sunny, warm Sunday and Kathy received visits from Mike, Kym and both grandchildren Colton and Kellyn. Danny sent his love from Rocky Point where he was celebrating his 50th birthday. Kathy fought Dementia bravely for over a year before GOD brought her home to be with her parents, George and Edie, and her husband of 52 years, Gary (Ole) Olson. 

Kathy was born in 1942 in Minnesota to Herbert George Thompson and Edith Arey Thompson. She was the only child of a military father. She met Gary through a mutual friend and were happily married with three children. Mom will be remembered for her sweet nature, her strength of character, her love for her children, and her many pets. 

Kathy is survived by her two sons, Michael Olson, Danny Olson, her daughter, Kimberley Olson Gates, and her two grandchildren Colton and Kellyn Gates.

Memorial Services will be held at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Tempe on Friday, June 2nd, at 1:00 p.m.
