She taught swimming in city parks, summer resorts and at a program for handicapped children.  She was a co-leader of a Girl Scout troop.    She was quite active in visiting elderly and shut-in people.  After developing Parkinson’s disease she often led or assisted in leading Parkinson’s support groups.
