After graduation from RHS I enrolled at the University of Minnesota graduating from the School of Dentistry in June of 1966. I married Sandy Swanson in 1963 while at the U of M. Sandy was a nurse supporting me and our 3 children at the time. I entered the USAF in 1964 and after graduating from dental school in 1966 I served active duty stationed in California for 2 years. We returned to Minnesota in 1968 where I set up my practice in Wayzata, MN. We ( Sandy was my business coordinator) practiced for 35 years retiring in 2003. I also taught at the U of M School of Dentistry part time for 32 years.
Our children were all born in the 60's. Our oldest son Mike is also a dentist who took over our practice when we retired. He and his wife Karla have 4 sons. Our daughter Shelly is a real estate agent and full time mother. She and husband Chad have 3 daughters and 2 sons. Our youngest son Greg is a physician specializing in neurosurgery. He and his wife Julie had their first child January 14, 2010, a sweet little girl. All of our children and grandchildren live here in MN no more than a 20 minute drive from us. We feel blessed.
We enjoy most outdoor activities, have been involved in many mission trips here in the US and in other countries. and have traveled a good amount. We spend a lot of time trying to keep up with family and friends. Many fond memories of RHS and am looking forward to renewing old friendships in September. |
